THE LEGAL PERSPECTIVE

We would like to invite you to the next Ashley Kate HR Network Event where leading employment lawyers from international law firm Eversheds LLP will provide an update to HR professionals on key legal developments.

This is an essential update for anyone involved in HR.

The evening will be led by Simon Rice-Birchall, Helena Tattersall and Emma Stevens from the Eversheds LLP Human Resources Group.

Simon Rice-Birchall
Simon is a partner in the Employment Group. He has considerable experience of employment litigation and has a reputation in the marketplace for his discrimination law expertise. Simon has been responsible for a number of high profile discrimination cases over the last 10 years and continues to build this area of his practice. In addition, Simon’s contentious workload includes unfair dismissal, whistleblowing and executive terminations. In addition to his contentious practice, Simon also gives advice in relation to non-contentious matters such as the implications of the TUPE regulations in many different change situations, issues relating to proposals to change terms and conditions of employment and large scale redundancy exercises.

Helena Tattersall
Helena is a solicitor within the Employment Group with experience in both contentious and non-contentious employment law. Helena qualified in September 2007 and advises a variety of public and private sector clients on all aspects of employment law, including unfair dismissal, redundancy and discrimination, including multiple equal pay claims within the public sector. Her key focus is on the education and health sectors. Helena also conducts her own advocacy in the Employment Tribunal.

Emma Stevens
Emma is a Solicitor in the Employment Group. Emma has experience of a wide range of employment issues, including handling Tribunal claims and carrying out policy reviews. Emma has a particular interest in public sector issues and is a member of the Education team, providing advice to a variety of educational institutions in both the further and higher education sectors. She also has experience of handling equal pay claims in the healthcare sector and is a member of the Immigration team.

Ashley Kate HR rose to the challenge last Friday and got their ‘gear’ on for BBC’s Sports Relief and raised over £135 in aid of charity and hopefully changed a few lives for the better in the process. We all wore sportswear to work and all went the extra mile to raise lots of cash, showing off our sporting skills!

We would like to thank all those who kindly contributed to a great cause and to our giving page. The team at Ashley Kate enjoyed other fund raising activities including a very competitive three legged race, a sports themed quiz, undertaking physical forfeits in our ‘gym’ area and when we were thirsty the MD made and sold drinks to all our hard working Ashley Kate ‘athletes’!!
